Hey, friends!
Long time no post! I accidentally quit blogging for a bit, and honestly, I don’t know why. It kinda just happened, but now I’m back! I have a lot of new post ideas, so hopefully, I’ll actually get around to posting them this time. Anyway, since it’s been a bit, I thought I’d do a life update and what I’ve been doing the last few months.

- went to lutsen, mn. for a week to ski! (i really should have done a whole post on this)
- watched all 6 hours of pride & prejudice (the 1995 one) in one day because the lifts were closed (it was so windy & cold) and i had nothing else to do
- went on a couple nice runs and spent way too much time on the arctrainer (it’s definitely way more fun to run there in the summer, though)
- watched a lot of jane austen movies with my mom and sister (p&p 2005, sense & sensibility, emma 2020)
- i read jane eyre in two days (and usually when i bring books on vacation, i never read them so i brought it just in case and then i ended up reading it all while we were driving and on the first day and i had nothing to read the rest of the trip
)
- sat in the outside hot tub (it wasn’t that warm though compared to how hot we keep ours and since it was really cold outside, we kept getting out, jumping in the pool, and then getting back in so it’d feel warm)
- got a lot of great skiing in!
- a couple random things that happened: we tried to ski a tree run but they haven’t gotten that much snow so we came to one part and it was basically all mud/ice, so we climbed back up and had to go a different way
| me + most of my siblings have twin tips, and when you ride the gondola you set your skis in a rack on the outside but twin tips won’t fit into it together so you have to separate them. when they’re seperated though they’re almost too loose and don’t stay in right, and when the door closed it made them kinda slide around. so the first time i rode i spent the whole 10 minutes just waiting for my skis to fall out of the rack and be lost forever
– but somehow they stayed.
then for the rest of the times i rode the gondala i just brought them in with me. | also, me and younger sister stopped at this lookout area to take pictures (we did a hike up there this summer and i thought having pictures from winter. + summer would be cool) except then we couldn’t get her ski to pop back in. we spent like 10 minutes trying and then my dad and brothers skied by and helped us fix it.
- other than those three things though and missing a day of skiing cause of the wind/cold, it was a really fun trip!!
- finished up winter training & started track !! (i’ve liked it way more than i thought it would but cross country is still so much better
)
- had my first meet!! our 4×8 was so much fun and i ran a really good split – i ran the two mile (16 LAPS because it was indoor) and had a good first mile until i got really hot and dizzy then, my goal basically was to not pass out. i ended up getting 2nd though!
- spent way too much time on the arctrainer
(this video is literally me but with the arctrainer) basically, my IT band has been messed up the last few months so my hip has been popping out of place, and the arctrainer is one of the few things i can do that doesn’t irritate it. i’ve been working on doing stuff to strengthen it though and i’m back to being able to run more so it’s definitely getting better.
- went tubing with our church (this night was so so much fun)
- restarted the podcast!! we took a break for a while, but now we’re back to posting episodes every few weeks. go listen here (:
- after starting watching jane austen movies on our trip, we came home and we’ve been watching so many period dramas – so far we’ve watched emma (the 2009 one), started jane eyre (2006) and then now we’re watching north & south. also, watched the rest of wcth season 12 and i was so disappointed with the ending. when hope calls has another season coming out soon though (after 6 years of waiting for it?!) and i’m hoping that’ll make up for it.
- started a sourdough started (so far i’ve only made bread once but i’ve used the discard for dinner rolls, hamburger buns, cinnamon rolls + pizza crust) update – i kinda forgot about it for a few weeks and now i’m trying to revive it
another update (this shows how long i’ve been working on this post) – it’s back to being alive haha.
- made a lot of cupcakes for my cousin’s baby shower – i tried these caramel ones but they ended up being way too sweet, but the others turned out great.
and a photo dump from the last few months (:

Anyway, that’s an update on me and what I’ve been up to! This post was kinda rambly but those are some of my favorite kind of blog posts to read, so I hope you enjoyed it, too. Comment below with what you’ve been doing and what posts you want to see next!!

Me too please! My mom loves making sourdough and is constantly looking for new recipes to try out!

Nooooo don’t tell me wcth had a horrible ending!!! I haven’t seen season tweeellllve

Is it just the usual cliffhanger or is it actually a disappointing ending compared to usual?
(Why I ask these questions I don’t know…)
i wouldn’t say it was horrible but it definitely wasn’t my favorite. disappointing, more than a cliffhanger
the first half of the season was really good tho!!
it makes me so happy to hear about your sourdough baking and jane austen movie watching
i’d love to see a post about track and setting big goals!

i’ll definitely try to post something like that!
1995 p&p is the best one, far and away. I’m glad you had a good time skiing—I had a fun ski trip with my grandpa, too! Good to see you back!
