Hey, friends!
Somehow I managed to do it again and not post for weeks, but at least it wasn’t a month this time 😂 I promise I’m going to be more consistent because I want to post some more fall posts before it’s Christmastime. With Thanksgiving and Christmas though comes winter & cold & shorter and darker days which can make it harder to be a good mood, so here’s a quick list of some mood boosters for when you’re having not the best day. (Plus some cute kitten photos and pictures of my friend Addie’s geese!)
1. get outside!
Especially on the days it’s sunny and nice because there aren’t a lot of those. But even when it’s cloudy or cold, being outside can be so refreshing.
2. journal
For me, figuring out what’s going on and why I’m feeling the way I am is the only way to start feeling better. Maybe it’s because something happened between you and another person, you didn’t sleep well, or just aren’t feeling it- all of those are valid! Once you write down what’s going on, write something that you can do that would make you feel better (making or buying a fun drink, going to bed early, calling a friend, whatever will put you in a better mood!) and then go do it.
3. turn on some good music
Worship music is always good when you need some positivity. I’ve been listening to a lot of Chris Renzema lately and his music is amazing, also Josiah Queen, Lovkn, and then pretty much all the other Christian songs right now. (EXCEPT FORREST FRANK HIS MUSIC DRIVES ME CRAZY AND SO MANY PEOPLE DON’T LIKE ME FOR IT)
4. do a workout
Movement is so important and even if it doesn’t feel good in the moment, it will make you feel better once you’re finished. Go for a walk (outside or on a treadmill/walking pad), do a body weight or dumbell workout, pilates or yoga, or go to the gym or run. There are SO many different things you can do (at home, outside, or at the gym) that will improve your day.
5. turn on your favorite movie or show and drink some hot cocoa or tea
The best way to end your day after having a bad day, in my opinion. I’ve been rewatching Sign Sealed Delivered with my mom and sister lately, and it’s a really fun & but entertaining show. Also any cringy Hallmark movies are good when you need a distraction.
6. take a shower & do your hair & put on a cute outfit
This one is really for if you wake up and you’re having a bad day but you really need to get stuff done. Showering also helps me reset (especially blasting some happy music) and just putting in the effort to look more put together can make you feel more productive and help you get things done.
7. eat a healthy snack or meal
A lot of the times I don’t feel good it’s because I didn’t eat healthy & good food or I didn’t eat enough and I’m in a mood because of that. Even if it’s just a smoothie with fruit + protein or a whole meal, eating healthy helps so much! (ice cream does help sometimes though 😉)
8. write a gratitude/happy list
I have tons of happy lists on my blog because I love doing them and they just make me feel better. I have a list on my Notes app with a gratitude list that I add things to whenever I’m feeling happy & grateful or stressed out and tired.
9. pray & read your Bible
Definitely the most important!! Talking to God and praying about things that are stressing you out will change your whole mood. Bible journaling and listening to worship music if you’re struggling to pray is also really helpful for me.
now, it’s your turn!
What are some things you do when you’re having a bad day? Anything else I should add to this list? Comment below!!

Pearl I am the opposite. Being in a good mood in the Summer and Bright ,light hours puts me in a bad mood. Cool early dark perks me up. Reading, watching a ball game or a favorite TV or movie. is my pick me up.
