hey, friends!
i loveee reading books that are seasonally themed!! some of the books on this list are ones that i’ve been reading every year for years and others are ones that i’ve never read before and i’m reading them for the first time this year. i was planning on doing this post a few weeks but never ended up finishing it until now so i’ve read everything on this list and need to find some more to read. if you need books to add to your christmas tbr, here’s your list!!

the christmas book flood by roseanna m. white
ww2 historical romance novella | standalone
i’m a huge roseanna m. white fan and i waited to read this until christmas time, even though i wanted to before haha. (it came out in october) this book is sweet and cozy and my only problem with it is that it wasn’t long enough. learning more about traditions at christmas in iceland and the history of giving books for christmas was really interesting. if you want a cozy, world war 2 novella with great historical details, then this book is perfect for you.

the vanderbeekers on 141st street by karina yan glaser
middle grade contemporary | 1st book in the series
i will be forever recommending this series (this and the penderwicks). if you haven’t read it, go and do it because it’s the best ever.

an ivy hill christmas by julie klassen
regency romance novella | 4th book in the series
i finished this one a few weeks ago and it wasn’t julie klassen’s best but it was a very cozy & christmas-y novella. would definitely recommend even if you’ve never read the other ivy hill books!

home for the holidays by heather vogel frederick
upper middle-grade/lower ya contemporary | 5th book in the series
the first time i read this was last year which got me into the whole mother daughter book club series. (my mom tried to get me to listen to them a long time ago, and i’m mad now that i didn’t listen because i would have loved them.) home for the holidays isn’t my favorite in the series but it’s so fun to listen to during the holidays!!

christmas at sugar plum manor by roseanna m. white
edwardian romance novella | standalone | read
if you don’t like slower paced books, this one isn’t for you. but if you don’t mind them, definitely read it!! christmas at sugar plum manor was charming & magical and i loved it.

a seaview christmas by julie klassen
regency romance novella | 4th book in the series
to be honest, i really didn’t like this book 🥲 it seemed like it should have all the good & cozy christmas vibes but i ended up only reading the parts with georgiana because everyone else was making me mad. still a cozy christmas read, and just because i didn’t like it doesn’t mean you won’t, but definitely wasn’t my favorite.

the four story mistake by elizabeth enright
middle grade historical | 2nd book in the series
only parts of the four story mistake are set during christmas but the whole book is great to read during the holidays.

tis the season by ann m. martin
middle grade contemporary | 3rd book in the series
i’ve been reading this book every year since i was probably nine and i still adore it. from the characters to the cozy setting in camden falls, it’s perfect to read during christmas. also i love how seasonally themed all the main street books are!
now, it’s your turn!
what are you reading right now?
thanks so much for reading!

Thank You for the Christmas list. We have read Main Street and An Ivy Hill Christmas. Marilyn finished Christmas At Sugar Plum Manor and Marion is almost finished with the book. We both read A Wish Book Christmas by Lynn Austen. Marilyn is now reading A Christmas Carol and next to read is Waiting For Christmas by Lynn Austen. Marion is going to read The Brontes’ Christmas. We are both reading the American Girls Christmas stories, too.
Have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
Marion and Marilyn
P.S. We enjoy your blog.
ooh i was actually looking at a wish book christmas, maybe i’ll try and read it. all of those sound perfect to read at christmas! so glad you enjoy my blog, and thank you for reading. 🤍
Ahh, yessss, Roseanna M. White is one of my favorite authors too!! I wanted to read both those Christmas novellas this year, but either my library didn’t have them physically or they weren’t available on my digital library 😭 (which I’m horrible at remember to read e-books anyway, but 😂) Hopefully next year though! 🤞
Do you have a favorite book/book series by her??
Thanks for the recs!! <33
she is amazing!! that is so sad 😭 i love the codebreakers or the secrets of the isles. but honestly, they’re all my favorites!! 🤭 what about you?
of course, thanks for reading & commenting!! 🤍
