It’s Blogmas day 3 and the other day, Emeren from Emeren’s Corner (go check out her blog if you haven’t already because she’s amazing!) tagged me to do the Holiday 20 Questions Tag, so that’s what today’s post is all about!

For number 3, I’m just going to say if you’re a blogger, consider yourself tagged! Or if you’re not a blogger, I’d love to hear your answers in the comments. Now onto the questions!

1. When do you consider the holiday season officially started? – For Christmas and everything, the day after Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving, middle of November.
2. What’s your favorite thing about winter? – Skiing with my family! And snow.
3. What’s your least favorite thing about winter? – Running in really cold weather/wind (anything below 20 counts as really cold in my opinion, at least right now) and not being able to breathe. 😂
4. What do you like to do in the snow? – Skiing is the main thing, but sledding and taking photos is also amazing.
5. What’s your favorite holiday tradition? – Either our candlelight Christmas Eve Service at church or all the baking + Christmas movies we watch.
6. How do you usually celebrate Thanksgiving? – We spend the Wednesday before baking & making a lot of food, and then on for lunch on Thanksgiving, we get together with all my cousins & aunts & uncles in my Grandma’s barn (it’s mostly finished) and have all our Thanksgiving food. (Last and this year, I’ve realized how much I really don’t like Thanksgiving food 😂) After that, we go to my other grandparents for a snacks and watch Christmas movies, and then walk through our town’s Christmas light display.
7. How do you usually celebrate Christmas? – Christmas is usually very quiet at my house. We have our own family Christmas a couple of days before, and our Christmas with my dad’s family is usually a couple of days after. On Christmas morning, my grandparents come over and we open gifts together + have breakfast, and then we just hang out the rest of the day playing games, watching movies & baking.
8. What’s your favorite type of pie? – Pumpkin or peanut butter!
9. What’s your fave winter / Christmas themed emoji? – 🎄
10. What’s your favorite Christmas song? – Upside Down Thing by Savannah Locke, Last Christmas, and Christmas in the Midwest by Chris Renzema.
11. Do you have a Christmas tree? If so how do you like to decorate it? – We have multiple trees in our house but our main (and the only real one) is full of tons of different kinds of ornaments that we’ve collected.
12. What’s one gift you would like to receive for Christmas this year? – A Kindle Reader, I think 😂 I’ve had like no ideas for gifts this year.
13. Would you rather host a holiday party or go to someone else’s? – Definitely host one! I love planning parties so much.
14. What’s your favorite Christmas movie? – Right now, The Christmas Project but it changes a lot.
15. What do you like to do on New Year’s Eve? – If there’s snow, we go sledding/get pulled on our ranger, get custard from Culvers, and then go back to our house and drink sparkling cider + play games.
16. Have you ever stayed up til midnight? – Yep!
17. Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions? – Somewhat. I have goals for pretty much everything so it’s not a once-a-year thing but I will do a reset/make new goals.
18. As of now, have you kept any of yours from 2024? – Some of them! This month I realized how much my goals have changed from the ones I set last year and I’ve changed some of expectations/plans to go with what I’m focusing on right now.
19. How long do you get off of school for winter break? – 10 days!
20. Overall, how much do you love the holiday season on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst part of the year 10 being absolutely amazing)? – Probably an 8 or 9. I love it but I also really like everyday normal life, if that makes sense.
