Hey guys!
I don’t know about you, but I definitely love it when my bedroom feels nice, fresh & clean. And spring is the perfect time to do this. Today, I thought I’d share 9 ideas on how you can quickly & easily make your room feel fresh & clean for spring!
1. dust, sweep, and do some general cleaning
This seems obvious, but it’s so helpful. If you take the time to dust off your dresser and shelves and wipe down your desk, vanity, and nightstand, just doing those two simple things will instantly make your bedroom feel so much cleaner.
2. add some plants
Plants are one of the best ways to freshen up any space. It’s a great way to bring some freshness into any room! There are so many easy to grow plants out there or succulents, too, that I’m sure you can find some that fit your lighting situation.
3. declutter
If you’re the kind of person to have lots of knickknacks and trinkets out, it might be time to put some of them away. I have a box in that I keep all of my souvenirs and special things that work well so they don’t get lost but I can still see them when I want to. Also, if you have a lot of photos & art up on the walls, your room might look artsy and boho, but if you’re going for a clean, fresh, and minimalist look, you might want to take those down. Having clean walls, clean bookshelves, and a clean desk will make the room instantly feel cleaner and brighter.
4. wash your sheets and air them out
Personally, I can’t stand dirty, grimy sheets. I have to wash mine at least once a week. Every time I wash them, I always feel so clean when I hop into bed that night. I 100% recommend it.
5. open windows and let fresh air in
Letting fresh air in will make your bedroom feel so fresh and clean! Don’t open them on rainy or humid days (otherwise it will make the room feel super humid), instead choose a cool sunny day and leave them open for a while. Or leave them open at night, keep in mind though, you might wake up to a chilly bedroom.
6. make your bed
This is simple and easy to do but can change how messy or clean your room looks so quickly. I hate making my bed for no good reason, but I still do it because it makes my room look way cleaner and it’s a good habit to have.
7. go through & get rid of things you’re not using
Are there any boxes hiding anywhere that are full of random junk that you don’t want to deal with? Well, it’s time to deal with them. If you’re not going to use the things inside, either throw them away or donate them. Also, if you have siblings, make sure to check to see if it’s something they would want before you get rid of it.
8. organize all the places you can’t see
Like your closet, and under your bed, and that cabinet that’s the perfect place to stuff random things in that you don’t want to bother with. . . use tip #8 and get rid of the things you don’t want, and organize the things that you keep. I find that having my vanity with all my things organized, a closet where all my clothes are hanging, and any other spaces that you can’t see but get messy are so nice to have clean.
9. clean your closet
I know that this is one we might not think of when we’re thinking about freshening up our room for spring, but it’s a super important tip! Clean out the closet and make room for some new shopping finds. It’s also important to not only clean out, but also to dust and sweep.
now, it’s your turn!
I hope you guys found this post helpful & have enjoyed! Mayim and I did a podcast episode with some other tips for spring cleaning (and just a general glow up) so go listen to that! Before you do, comment below with your ideas for cleaning up your bedroom for spring!

Any ideas for keeping a desk decluttered? I have a lovely antique desk that I love to write at, but it becomes a catch-all for my junk and I have to find homes for the junk before I can write, which really kills my motivation.
