Hey, friends!
I celebrated my birthday this Monday, and last year, a lot of you enjoyed hearing about what I was given and how I celebrated, so here’s my haul post and some other random photos & events from this week and last weekend.
Also, I just want to clarify that I’m not doing this to brag. Most of you hopefully know that but I am so thankful for all of these gifts and the amazing people who gave them to me!
birthday haul
I got this beautiful antique typewriter from my aunt. Originally, she found it just for a decoration for my room, but we found out that after replacing the ribbon, it actually works! So now I have a typewriter that works pretty well which is fabulous!
This body scrub came from my youngest older sister and it feels amazing, plus the packaging is so cute! And the mug came from my middle younger sister. It’s pretty and lovely to drink tea out of.
Room spray and a candle also from my oldest younger sister! My room smells sooo good right now because of these. TJ Maxx is the best place to find room spray/candles for a good price if you’re ever looking for them, in my opinion.
I was given so many hair clips and such which is great because with the amount of hair I have and it being curly, it’s nearly impossible to keep it down and looking good on hot days. (Frizzy hair/becoming twice it’s size is real, guys. 😂)
I also got lip gloss & markers from my aunt, a sunflower charm bracelet from my older sister, and a Converse key chain from my grandparents.
I got those three books on my first trip to Barnes & Noble last Friday (I spent over an hour in there just looking at books with my mom. So fun!) partly as a birthday gift from my parents
My grandma gave me this beautiful KJV journaling Bible. I can’t wait to use it and have it for my journaling in. I’ll definitely be sharing spreads from both my old Bible and this new one soon!
I have so many midliners now, it’s great. I use them all the time for penpal-ing, Bible journaling, taking sermon notes, my bullet journal, etc, and having so many makes it so much easier! Plus more colors which is always fun. I also got the sunflower dish from my grandparents, but sadly, it got broken a few minutes after I took this photo so I have a new one coming soon.
So, I was 99% sure I was getting Converse from my grandparents, but when I saw the box and how small it was, I doubted that. But it turned out that they were just trying to trick me and it worked. 😂 I also got this cute sunflower sign from them as well!
And lastly, my parents got me and my sister a Cricut Maker 3! I have already had so much fun using it, and there are going to be some exciting surprises coming up on the blog soon that have to do with it. 😉 We’ve already made around 25 (with the help of some friends of ours who also have a Cricut!) Jesus Saves; Ask Me How t-shirts for our church which is amazing. So I’m really excited about this gift especially!
birthday celebrations & such
On Thursday evening, I had a group of three of my friends over for a more chaotic birthday party which was more like a gathering of. . . *can’t think of the word to describe us* Let’s just say we did some wild things that night, like playing the ground is lava inside the house, messing around with my youngest brother’s toy parrot, throwing axes from in a tree (they were plastic, okay? 🤪), howling in the woods (we were pretending to be big foot. It makes complete sense if you think about it the right way. 😉), and taking weird selfies & .05’s of each other.
And then on Friday, we went for a shopping/birthday trip for my older brother which was when I got to go to Barnes and Noble! (Also, I nearly fell off the escalator in one of the stores. 😁) Afterwards, I had a lovely and much calmer birthday party with girls from my church. We decorated tote bags, made ice cream Sundaes, and played basketball. (And of course, we didn’t take a single picture. 😅)
My cousin and I went out for our traditional coffee/tea date to celebrate our birthdays (we’re one day apart and we have another older cousin who’s right in between us!) where I had the BEST chai latte I’ve ever had. So good!
For my birthday on Monday, Mom made some great danishes for breakfast and then I read one of my new books for a while, worked on some letters, and talked to a friend. Then my grandparents & my grandma came over for steak and homemade ice cream cake for lunch – delicious! For dinner, Mom and I went out shopping and then out to eat at an awesome Mexican restaurant. Afterwards, we ‘played’ with our Cricut. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and I’m so thankful to everyone who helped me celebrate!!

That sounds like the perfect birthday weekend, Pearl! I LOVE icecream cake-my Mom makes one every year for my birthday, and it’s way better than regular cake!

XD You almost falling off the escalator reminded me of the time when my youth group went on a trip to Kentucky. We were exploring the mall, and one of the middle school boys (that explains it all right there) went up the down escalator and ended up getting kicked out of the mall by the police. 🤦♀️
