Hey, friends!
I wanted to make a post with a bunch of cute and easy hairstyles for running, other sports, or just everyday life. It basically wasn’t until last year that I could do anything more than basic braids or ponytails in my hair, so when I’m saying that these are from someone who couldn’t do hair, I’m not kidding. 😂 Anyway, here are some of my favorite simple but cute hairstyles!
Also, something I’ve learned – it takes so much time and practice to get good at doing something braids & other hairstyles. So if it doesn’t look right when you first do it, try again!!
dutch braids
Dutch braids are used to start so many other different hairstyles, but they’re also so cute on their own. My one problem with running with these is that if they’re not tight, they’ll swing and hit me in the face the whole run which can be pretty annoying.
(Random tip: if you have curly hair, make sure your hair is damp before you do it! This helped me so much, especially since trying to braid dry curly hair hurts 🤪)

bubble braids
Bubble braids are so easy to do, fast, and simple! You can do just one, dutch braids into a bubble braid, or dutch braids into a bubble braid with smaller braids weaved in. Whatever way you do them, they’re fun and look great!!

twisted braid
Personally, I like bubble braids a bit more than a twisted braid, but it’s still cute and easy to do.

braid from a ponytail
This one is so basic, and I do it all the time for running when I don’t have time for something else. It’s nicer than just a normal ponytail because then your hair isn’t sticking to you when you sweat or getting into your face but doesn’t take that much longer.
double/triple braids from a ponytail
I did this one all the time during cross country season for meets/practices, and I loved it! You can also add dutch braids going into it and then do the two/three braids.
dragon braid
I actually just learned how to do this one when looking for pics for this post and it’s now one of my favorites. Once you figure it out, it’s almost easier than normal braiding. And it’s so cute! You can do it with rubber bands/elastics to make it be a little tighter or just do it with normal hair ties.
